Moses joined Uptown Reinvestment Corporation in 2022. He serves as the organization’s liaison for public meetings, governmental approvals, design meetings, and local partnerships. He is a project manager for various redevelopment projects ranging from one-story commercial buildings to mixed-use facilities and the rehabilitation and construction of new single-family housing. These projects focus on increasing nonprofits’ capacities and providing mixed-income housing. Notably, he served as one of the project managers of the mixed-use, mixed-income development called LiveWell on Harrison. This $41 million project includes 110,000 square feet of recreational, residential, and commercial space.
Before his role at URC, Moses made significant contributions as a Neighborhood Strategy Coordinator at the Genesee County Land Bank Authority from 2018 – 2021. He facilitated monthly community development coalition meetings with 20 partner organizations in this role, focusing on a place-based neighborhood revitalization strategy. He oversaw the implementation of $2.9 million grant funds for blight elimination, neighborhood improvement projects, and the rehabilitation of five properties. Additionally, he played a key role in analyzing real estate project readiness for nonprofit and private stakeholders by reviewing site development plans and finances.
Moses received his master’s in urban planning and public policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He concentrated his studies on community development through housing and commercial corridor planning.
Originally from the South Side of Chicago, he has lived in Flint’s 7th Ward since 2018. He is a Board member for Genesee County Habitat for Humanity, a Board Commissioner for the City of Flint Building Code Board of Appeals, and a City of Flint City Wide Advisory Council member.
