The Capitol Theater is downtown Flint’s entertainment hub. Uptown Reinvestment Corporation restored this 90-year-old facility into a premier venue for national musical acts, standup comedy shows, classic films, and visiting seminars. The theater has state-of-the-art lighting, modern technology capabilities, a large performance stage, vibrant decor, and artisan architectural features. In 2019, the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) awarded the Capitol Theatre a Governor’s Award for Historic Preservation.

Additionally, the Capitol Theater has several commercial storefronts that feature an eclectic array of small businesses and professional services.
