Uptown Reinvestment Corporation partnered with the Hurley Medical Center to relocate Hurley’s Pediatric Residency Clinic and Pediatric Specialty Clinic to the second floor of the Flint Farmer’s Market. This project was an expansion of the Health & Wellness District. The clinics’ designs are patient- and family-centered, with high ceilings and an open layout. The waiting area has desks and cubicles for families who may need to work on things while they wait. Families can visit the market downstairs, or there are parenting classes and seminars in the market’s conference room—the clinics, on average, see 14,000 patients a year.
