Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine will be expanding their medical education and public health programs to Flint by occupying 40,000 Sq Ft. of the former Flint Journal Building. This will bring 100 third and fourth year medical students to Flint per year.

This project also includes building 16 loft apartments on the 3rd and 4th floor of the building. This will allow for more residence in the downtown area. This is part of a larger $36 million  health and wellness plan that involves relocation of the market as well as removing the Genesee Towers.
